What do you need to know about Enercare Centre?

  • Check-in opens 90 minutes before your start time. You check yourself in.
  • Bring photo ID.
  • Take transit. GO train to Exhibition station, or the 509 streetcar from Union or the 511 from Bathurst. Get off at Strachan Avenue by the Princes' Gates.
  • Parking is in the surface lots around the venue. Other events run at Exhibition Place that weekend, so budget extra time.
  • Address: Enercare Centre, 100 Princes' Blvd.

Arrival, warmup and bag drop are in the race day logistics guide.

Where can you stay, eat and shake out near the venue?

  • Stay: Hotel X Toronto is on the Exhibition Place grounds, a few minutes' walk from Enercare Centre.
  • Eat: Liberty Village sits just north of the grounds, with cafés and quick pre-race carbs.
  • Shakeout: the Martin Goodman Trail runs along the waterfront right beside Exhibition Place.
  • Downtown: Union is one GO stop east of Exhibition.

What does the Toronto course look like?

Eight 1 km runs, eight stations, in the order they always run: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, row, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, wall balls. HYROX has published the Toronto venue map on the official race page. Read it once before race day so the roxzone doesn't surprise you.

What changed in the rules for 2026/27?

The 26/27 rulebook changes that matter on the day:

  • Sandbag lunges: the bag stays on both shoulders. Each time it goes down, 15 seconds.
  • Row: leave the seat before 1000m and it's a disqualification. You can rest with your feet off the plates.
  • Burpee broad jumps: your feet can be staggered up to 5 cm.
  • Start tunnel: go when your wave goes. Lingering can cost a one-minute penalty.
  • Banned: headphones, ear plugs and smart glasses.

The full list, quoted from the rulebook, is in what changed in the Hyrox rulebook for 2026/27.

What do first-timers learn the hard way?

  • Count your own laps. The rulebook makes it your job, and the venue lap screen is only an aid. A missed running lap costs minutes.
  • IN and OUT arches. Enter the roxzone through IN and leave through OUT. The wrong arch is two minutes, and the chip catches it.
  • Race your own wave. Jumping into an earlier or later wave without the organizer's approval is a disqualification.
  • Stay off the course before your start. Stepping onto it early can trigger your chip and corrupt your time.
  • Wall balls: the judge decides what counts, not the screen.
  • Your watch's GPS drifts indoors. Pace off time and effort, not the distance it shows.

The station by station detail is in Hyrox Toronto station tips.

What's different when you race doubles?

  • Run side by side. You run every kilometre together. Running ahead is a one-minute penalty, and more than three penalties puts you out of competition.
  • Your finish time is the later chip, so a sprint finish ahead of your partner gains nothing.
  • Wall balls: no throw-and-catch handoffs. Put the ball down or hand it over.
  • The resting partner stays on their feet, inside the marked zone.

The rest is in the nine places doubles pairs win or lose time.

What should you bring to Hyrox Toronto?

  • Photo ID and your registration confirmation
  • Race shoes you've already tested
  • Gels you've used in training
  • A bottle and electrolytes
  • A warm layer for the wait
  • Dry kit and a towel for after

Grips and headphones aren't allowed on course. Chalk is provided at the sled pull and farmers carry only, so leave yours at home. Gloves, knee sleeves and a lifting belt are allowed if you train in them. HYROX hasn't published bag drop details for Toronto yet, so pack one small bag.

Hyrox race week: the last seven days covers sleep, food and the taper.

What's on in Toronto during race week?

  • Wednesday, September 30: Shakeout run at Sweat and Tonic, The Well, 6 PM. Free. No bag storage.
  • Thursday to Sunday: the HYROX Entertainment Zone with race partners, at the venue.
  • Saturday, October 3: Fall open house at InsideOut Health + Fitness, 210 Laird Dr, 10 AM. Eight Hyrox-inspired stations. Good for friends who came to watch.

Everything else running in the city is on Toronto Hyrox events.

Can you still buy or sell a Hyrox Toronto spot?

  • Deadline. 7:59 AM event time, the day before your race day.
  • Flex decides it. No Flex or Lite Flex add-on, no name change.
  • Once. One name change per ticket, ever.
  • Payment. No e-transfers to someone you can't check out.
  • Spectators need their own ticket, sold through the official race page.

The full rules are in how to buy or sell a Hyrox spot. Spots people are selling are on the Toronto ticket board.
