Terms of Service
Last updated July 23, 2026
Effective date: July 21, 2026
These terms of service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and AthleteField ("AthleteField", "we", "us"). They govern your use of athletefield.co and the AthleteField platform (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. What AthleteField is (and isn't)
AthleteField helps athletes competing in fitness races find and connect with other athletes before race day: training partners, doubles partners, relay teammates, and people racing the same event.
AthleteField is an independent platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to HYROX, its organizers, licensees, or event partners. HYROX and related marks are trademarks of their respective owners and appear on the Service only to factually identify events that athletes compete in. References to races, venues, and dates are factual information.
AthleteField is a connection tool. We are not a coaching service, a medical provider, an event organizer, a ticket seller, or a background-checking service.
2. Who can use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or older, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you will keep it accurate. You may create only one account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, and you are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. Your profile
Profile details such as your gym affiliation, experience level, race format, and pace are self-reported by you. Gym names shown on profiles are text identifiers provided by athletes and do not indicate any partnership between AthleteField and a gym. AthleteField bib numbers are platform identifiers we assign for use within the Service; they are not official race bib numbers.
4. Race results verification
Verification is optional. If you choose to verify:
- You initiate the verification, confirm that the results belong to you, and direct us to retrieve your own publicly available race results from the official results website on your behalf.
- Matching is performed on a name-match basis against the name on your account. We store only your own records.
- You must not claim, import, or attempt to verify results that are not yours. Doing so is grounds for immediate removal from the Service.
- Results data originates from third-party sources. We do not control it and do not guarantee its availability, accuracy, or completeness.
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue automated retrieval at any time, and may offer alternative verification methods such as manual entry with supporting evidence.
5. Connections and meeting in person
Connections on AthleteField are double opt-in. You choose who to connect with, and you are never obligated to accept a request, respond to a message, or meet anyone.
We do not conduct background checks, criminal record checks, or identity verification of users. Optional results verification confirms only a name match against public race results. Profiles are self-reported and we cannot guarantee that any user is who they claim to be.
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, both on the Service and in person. If you choose to meet or train with someone you met through the Service, use good judgment: meet in public places, tell someone where you are going, arrange your own transportation, and trust your instincts. Use the block and report tools if anyone makes you uncomfortable, and contact local emergency services if you feel unsafe.
Assumption of risk. Training for and competing in fitness races is physically demanding and carries inherent risks, including the risk of serious injury. Meeting, training, or racing with people you meet through the Service carries additional inherent risks. You voluntarily assume all risks arising from your interactions with other users and from any training, meetings, races, or other activities you undertake with them.
Release. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you release AthleteField, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from all claims, demands, damages, and losses of every kind, known or unknown, arising out of or in connection with (a) the acts or omissions of other users, (b) your interactions or communications with other users, and (c) any injury, loss, or damage occurring in connection with meetings, training sessions, races, or other activities involving other users.
6. Health disclaimer
Nothing on the Service is medical, health, or coaching advice. Consult a physician before beginning or changing a training program. You are solely responsible for assessing your own fitness to train and compete.
7. Your content
You own the content you post, including your profile, photos, and messages. You grant AthleteField a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate, improve, and provide the Service. We will not use your content in marketing materials without your permission. You are responsible for your content and must have the rights to anything you post.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or defame anyone
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or race results
- Use the Service for commercial solicitation, recruiting, or advertising without our written consent
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service or collect information about other users
- Interfere with the security or operation of the Service, or attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours
- Post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or infringes anyone's rights
- Use the Service if you are under 18, or use it in violation of any applicable law
We may investigate violations and take any action we consider appropriate, including removing content, suspending or terminating accounts, and reporting to law enforcement.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content we create, is owned by AthleteField and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without restriction or compensation.
10. Third-party services
The Service may link to or interact with third-party websites and services, including official race results websites and event registration pages. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
11. Fees
The Service is currently free for athletes. If we introduce paid features, we will disclose pricing before you are charged.
12. Tickets
The Service may include a noticeboard where athletes can post race entries or tickets they can no longer use. AthleteField is not a ticket seller, broker, or payment processor. We do not sell tickets, hold funds, set prices, or take part in any transaction. Any transfer happens directly between athletes through the official race transfer process, subject to the organizer's rules. We are not a party to any transfer, and we are not responsible for the accuracy of listings or the outcome of any transfer. Treat a listing as a starting point, not a guarantee.
13. Early access and changes to the Service
The Service is in active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time, and we may impose limits on use. We may modify or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time.
14. Termination
You may delete your account at any time in your settings. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, misrepresented your identity or results, or pose a risk to other users or to the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 5, 6, 7, 9, 12, and 14 through 18) survive.
15. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Without limiting that, we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that suggested matches will be suitable or compatible, that any user is accurately represented, or that any connection will lead to a partnership, team, or result of any kind.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: (a) AthleteField will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill; and (b) AthleteField's total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of CAD $100 and the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, and nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law or deprives you of mandatory consumer protection rights that apply to you.
17. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold AthleteField and its directors, officers, employees, and agents harmless from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Service, your interactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms, applicable law, or anyone's rights.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. You agree that the courts of Ontario, sitting in Toronto, will have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms or the Service, subject to any mandatory consumer rights you may have to bring claims in your home jurisdiction.
19. General
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between you and AthleteField about the Service.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
