Hyrox Düsseldorf: dates, venue, and what to expect

EDEKA HYROX Düsseldorf runs November 11 to 15, 2026 at the Merkur Spiel-Arena, and it's two firsts at once: the city has never hosted a HYROX race, and the organizer says it's the first one held inside a stadium anywhere in the DACH region. Eight 1 km runs in Fortuna Düsseldorf's home ground, with the U-Bahn at the door.

When is Hyrox Düsseldorf 2026?

November 11 to 15, Wednesday through Sunday. Five race days means your entry can land on a weekday, so check the day you're assigned before you book anything. Your race day comes with your start wave, and your exact start time comes from the organizer closer to the race.

Where is the race?

The Merkur Spiel-Arena, Arena-Straße 1, in the north of the city next to the Messe. The U78 stops at MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA/Messe Nord, about 15 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof, and the arena runs extra trains after events. Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) is about 3 km from the Messe grounds, with the S11 and U80 linking the terminal to the city. Stay near the Hauptbahnhof or along the U78 and race morning is one ride.

What's the format?

The same race in every city, which is the point of Hyrox. Eight 1 km runs, alternating with eight stations in a fixed order: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls. Transitions through the roxzone count toward your time. Because the format never changes, a Düsseldorf result compares directly with one from any other city.

What divisions can you race?

Individual open and pro for men and women. Doubles in men's, women's and mixed, where the pair runs together and splits the station work, plus pro doubles. And relay, where a team of four splits the race.

Training in Düsseldorf?

The city trains for it in the open: a box calling itself the official training club in Pempelfort, a self-described official partner in the Medienhafen, an outdoor gym calling itself an official Hyrox centre in Grafental, a 13-week competition class aimed at this race, and chains running Hyrox classes at selected clubs.
