Hyrox Boston: dates, venue, and what to expect

HWPO HYROX Boston runs October 8 to 11, 2026 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in the Seaport District. For Toronto athletes it's the closest US stop on the fall calendar, one week after GoodLife HYROX Toronto. If Toronto sold out before you got in (though a transferred entry is worth trying first), or you just want a second start this fall, Boston is the natural pick.

When is Hyrox Boston 2026?

October 8 to 11, 2026, four days of racing. Your race day is assigned with your start wave, so a Boston entry can land on any of the four days. You'll get your exact start time from the organizer closer to the race, which matters more than usual when you're booking flights and a hotel around it.

Where is the race?

The Boston Convention & Exhibition Center at 415 Summer Street, in the Seaport District. It's one of the biggest exhibition venues in the US Northeast, a short ride from South Station and walkable from most Seaport hotels. Staying near the venue keeps race morning simple: no car, no parking, just a walk with your bag.

How do you get there from Toronto?

Direct flights run between Toronto and Boston year-round, roughly an hour and a half in the air. Driving is in the eight to nine hour range depending on the border and the route. Those are estimates, not promises, so check your own dates. Flying in the day before your race day and out the day after is the common move. You'll cross a border either way, so make sure your passport isn't the thing that ends your season.

What's the format?

The same race in every city, which is the point of Hyrox. Eight 1 km runs, alternating with eight stations in a fixed order: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls. Transitions through the roxzone count toward your time. Because the format never changes, a Boston result compares directly with a Toronto one, which is exactly why people chase a second race a week after their first.

What divisions can you race?

Individual open and pro for men and women. Doubles in men's, women's and mixed, where the pair runs together and splits the station work, plus pro doubles. And relay, where a team of four splits the race. If your first Hyrox was singles, an away race is a good excuse to try doubles with a training partner who fits your pace and is up for the trip.

What does an away race feel like?

Different in one specific way: your crowd isn't there by default. At home, half your gym shows up. In Boston, the people cheering your name are the ones who made the trip with you. The athletes who enjoy away races most travel in a group, share the hotel, and race on the same day when the waves allow it. Worth weighing against Boston: Vancouver, December 17 to 20 is the only other Canadian stop announced so far, and for most Toronto athletes it's the bigger away race. No border crossing, and ten weeks after Toronto is enough time to actually train between the two.
