Hyrox Tenerife: dates, venue, and what to expect

HYROX Tenerife runs September 4 to 6, 2026 at the Recinto Ferial de Tenerife in Santa Cruz, and it's the first HYROX race ever held in the Canary Islands. A race debut on an island where people fly in to train year-round: the field will be a mix of locals who've waited for this and athletes who built a training holiday around it.

When is Hyrox Tenerife 2026?

September 4 to 6, Friday through Sunday. Your race day is assigned with your start wave, and your exact start time comes from the organizer closer to the race.

Where is the race?

The Recinto Ferial, Avenida de la Constitucion 12, on the Santa Cruz waterfront in Cabo-Llanos, right next to the Auditorio de Tenerife. The building is a Santiago Calatrava design, which makes it one of the more photogenic venues on the calendar. Two airports serve the island: Tenerife North (TFN) is about 11 km from Santa Cruz and closest to the venue; Tenerife South (TFS) takes the bulk of international flights and sits down by the resort coast.

What's the format?

The same race in every city, which is the point of Hyrox. Eight 1 km runs, alternating with eight stations in a fixed order: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls. Transitions through the roxzone count toward your time. Because the format never changes, a Tenerife result compares directly with one from any other city.

What divisions can you race?

Individual open and pro for men and women. Doubles in men's, women's and mixed, where the pair runs together and splits the station work, plus pro doubles. And relay, where a team of four splits the race.

Training in Tenerife?
