Hyrox Rome: dates, venue, and what to expect

HYROX Rome runs September 23 to 27, 2026 at Fiera di Roma, the exhibition grounds in the city's southwest. Five days of racing, and for the second year running the venue's signature feature: an outdoor run track. Most Hyrox races happen entirely indoors; Rome is one of the stops where you run under the sky.

When is Hyrox Rome 2026?

September 23 to 27, Wednesday through Sunday. Your race day is assigned with your start wave, so a Rome entry can land on any of the five days. You'll get your exact start time from the organizer closer to the race, which matters when you're booking around it.

Where is the race?

Fiera di Roma, Via Portuense 1645, between the city centre and Fiumicino. The easy way in is the FL1 regional train to Fiera Roma station: about 8 minutes from Fiumicino airport, and direct from Trastevere on the city side. Flying in, Fiumicino (FCO) is the airport you want; the venue is closer to it than to the centre.

What's the format?

The same race in every city, which is the point of Hyrox. Eight 1 km runs, alternating with eight stations in a fixed order: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls. Transitions through the roxzone count toward your time. The one Rome twist is where those runs happen: outside, on the fairground track, so check the forecast the way you'd check it for a road race.

What divisions can you race?

Individual open and pro for men and women. Doubles in men's, women's and mixed, where the pair runs together and splits the station work, plus pro doubles. And relay, where a team of four splits the race.

Training in Rome?

The city has gyms with published Hyrox programming, from a studio by the Colosseum to a dedicated sled track out toward Cinecittà. The Rome gym map has the list, with a link to what each gym publishes about its own training.
