Virgin Active HYROX Johannesburg runs November 26 to 29, 2026 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec, the second Johannesburg race of the year after the May edition. Four days of racing.

When is Hyrox Johannesburg 2026?

November 26 to 29, Thursday through Sunday. Your race day is assigned with your start wave, so an entry can land on any of the four days. Your exact start time comes from the organizer closer to the race.

Where is the race?

The Johannesburg Expo Centre, corner of Nasrec Road and Rand Show Road, south of the city. This is a drive-or-ride-hail venue: the centre describes itself as about 30 minutes from the major airports and publishes no transit route, so plan the car leg and the parking rather than a train.

What's the format?

The same race in every city, which is the point of Hyrox. Eight 1 km runs, alternating with eight stations in a fixed order: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls. Transitions through the roxzone count toward your time. Because the format never changes, a Johannesburg result compares directly with one from any other city.

What divisions can you race?

Individual open and pro for men and women. Doubles in men's, women's and mixed, where the pair runs together and splits the station work, plus pro doubles. And relay, where a team of four splits the race.

Training in Johannesburg?

Johannesburg trains for Hyrox in the open: several gyms across Fourways, Rivonia, Bryanston and Randburg publish Hyrox training clubs, classes and simulations on their own sites, plus two chains. The Johannesburg gym map has the list, with a link to what each gym publishes about its own training.
