Hyrox Birmingham: dates, venue, and what to expect

HYROX Birmingham runs October 27 to November 1, 2026 at the NEC, and it's a long one: six days of racing, Tuesday through Sunday, opening the 26/27 season at the venue. The other thing to know is that the airport is next door. Literally.

When is Hyrox Birmingham 2026?

October 27 to November 1, Tuesday through Sunday. Six race days means your entry can land on a weekday, so check the day you're assigned before you book anything. Your race day comes with your start wave, and your exact start time comes from the organizer closer to the race.

Where is the race?

The NEC, Pendigo Way, Marston Green, B40 1NT, east of the city. Birmingham International station is a five minute walk from the halls, with direct trains into Birmingham New Street and along the West Coast line. Birmingham Airport (BHX) borders the site: the free Air-Rail Link runs from the terminal to the station in about 90 seconds. Fly in, ride the link, walk to the start. Stay by the NEC for the shortest race morning, or in the city centre and train out.

What's the format?

The same race in every city, which is the point of Hyrox. Eight 1 km runs, alternating with eight stations in a fixed order: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls. Transitions through the roxzone count toward your time. Because the format never changes, a Birmingham result compares directly with one from any other city.

What divisions can you race?

Individual open and pro for men and women. Doubles in men's, women's and mixed, where the pair runs together and splits the station work, plus pro doubles. And relay, where a team of four splits the race.

Training in Birmingham?

Birmingham has an official Hyrox gym with coached classes six days a week, a chain that names its Hyrox-equipped club, and a training club north of the city. The Birmingham gym map has the list, with a link to what each gym publishes about its own training.
