Racing Washington D.C.: the Hyrox guide (2026)

Amazfit HYROX Washington D.C. ran September 3 to 7, 2026 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Mount Vernon Square, the first time D.C. got a five-day HYROX event. The next edition hadn't been announced on hyrox.com as of October 8, 2026; until it is, the nearest dated races are Tampa (October 22 to 25, 2026), Nashville (December 9 to 13, 2026) and Atlanta (April 23 to 25, 2027).

When was Hyrox Washington D.C. 2026?

It ran September 3 to 7, 2026, Thursday through Monday, Labor Day. Each athlete ticket in the official shop named its day, and the provisional schedule fixed each division to set days, so nobody's day was assigned with their start wave. The next D.C. edition hadn't been announced on hyrox.com as of October 8, 2026.

Where was the race?

The Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 801 Allen Y. Lew Place NW, downtown in Mount Vernon Square. The Mt Vernon Sq 7th St-Convention Center Metro station (Green and Yellow lines) is named for the building, and Reagan National's own Metro station is on the Yellow line, whose trains are signed Mt Vernon Sq, per WMATA.

What's the Hyrox format?

The same race in every city, which is the point of Hyrox. Eight 1 km runs, alternating with eight stations in a fixed order: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls. Transitions through the roxzone count toward your time. Because the format never changes, a D.C. result compares directly with one from any other city.

What Hyrox divisions can you race?

Individual open and pro for men and women. Doubles in men's, women's and mixed, where the pair runs together and splits the station work, plus pro doubles. And relay, where a team of four splits the race.

Training in D.C.?

D.C.-area gyms publish real Hyrox programming, including classes a few blocks from the convention center itself and full race simulations in Tysons on Sundays.
