Hyrox comes to Chicago February 11 to 15, 2027, and the city already has gyms running published Hyrox programming. This is a map, not a ranking: every entry below comes from what each gym publishes about its own training, with a link to the page we took it from. If we've missed yours, email hello@athletefield.co. Which Chicago gyms run dedicated Hyrox programming?
Chicago Strength (River North, 1030 N Larrabee Street, and Logan Square, 2080 N Milwaukee Avenue). An official Hyrox affiliate, with River North the designated affiliate gym. A dedicated Hyrox class runs every week at both locations, all eight race stations are on-site, and their site offers a free trial of the Sunday Hyrox class.
Chicago Athletic Clubs (seven locations: Bucktown, Wicker Park, West Loop, Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Lincoln Square and Evanston). An accredited Hyrox training club offering one-on-one Hyrox personal training, small-group training capped at four athletes with certified Hyrox performance coaches, and daily self-guided Hyrox workouts posted in the clubs.
Movement Republic (Lincoln Square, 5066 N Lincoln Avenue). Their site describes the gym as an official Hyrox gym with dedicated Hyrox training, classes included in membership, and competition teams. No class times are published on the page, so check the schedule before you go.
South Loop Strength & Conditioning (South Loop, 645 S Clark Street). Coached Hyrox group classes combining conditioning with race-specific strength and muscle-endurance work, in one-hour classes that mix intervals with longer race-style pieces.
Cheetah Gym (Andersonville, 5248 N Clark Street). Four Hyrox class formats on their schedule, from foundational up to competition-style circuits, blending functional strength with running-based conditioning.
BluPrint Fitness (West Town, 2034 W Walnut Street). A structured Hyrox program in six-week training cycles, with scalable workouts, skill sessions and simulation events built in.
Evanston and the suburbs
Fitness Matrix (Evanston, 2306 Main Street). Describes itself as a certified Hyrox training centre, with Hyrox Strength and Hyrox Engine classes in the mornings and evenings.
Sharp Edge CrossFit (Evanston, 1326 Dodge Avenue). A Hyrox training club inside a CrossFit box: their page says the Hyrox workouts are programmed by Hyrox and led by a Hyrox-certified coach, with drop-ins available.
Unbreakable Fitness (Forest Park, 7511 Madison Street, on the Oak Park border). Their site lists the gym as an official gym partner, with race-specific hybrid classes on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings and Friday middays, and a 12-week block built for the February race.
CrossFit Des Plaines (Des Plaines, 200 Howard Avenue). A dedicated Hyrox class schedule running Monday to Saturday, with six weekday slots from early morning to evening and two on Saturday morning.
RevFit Naperville (Naperville, 3075 Book Road). Their site lists the gym as a Hyrox affiliate, with a Hyrox training club running Monday to Friday mornings and evenings, Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Quest Performance Training (Lake Forest, 28401 Ballard Drive). Describes itself as a Hyrox affiliate gym, with Hyrox classes on Sunday mornings booked online.
Do you need a Hyrox gym at all?
No. The race is eight 1 km runs and eight stations, so what you need is running volume plus regular access to sleds, ergs, a sandbag and a wall-ball target. A Hyrox class mostly buys you three things: pacing practice at race intensity, time on race-standard equipment, and a crew who'll be on the same start line. The station training guide covers what to do with whatever gym you have.
Racing Chicago?
The Hyrox Chicago page has the race facts and the waitlist. AthleteField matches athletes on real race data, same-gym athletes first, so when the Chicago field opens, your gym's crew finds each other before race day. How a good target time is set and what a good Hyrox time is are the two most-asked questions we answer.
